Winner of Ashington Christmas Window Display Competition
As part of Ashington's Christmas activities businesses on Station Road were invited to enter the first ever Christmas Window Display Competition.
Most of the entrants have also been a part of the Christmas Trail, which has also been very popular.
There have been some fantastic displays and after much deliberation The Salvation Army Shop won the competition with their cosy fireside scene.
The Civic Head of Ashington, Cllr Bob Walkinshaw visited the shop today to present the prize and certificate to the staff.
Christine Nelson, Manager of the Ashington shop comments, "We are delighted to have won the competition, but couldn't have done it without all of the donations from the public. The whole window is made up of donations and repurposed materials, the staff and I had a great time putting it together".
