Ashington Town Council Supports Blossoming Communities Six Week SPRING Into Action Wellbeing Programme

Civic Head, Councillor Caroline Ball, presented a small grant cheque to Blossoming Communities, a Community Interest Company established in March 2021 to address increasing isolation and mental health challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This funding supported a six-week "SPRING into Action" wellbeing craft programme, designed to promote personal growth and community connection.

The sessions, held weekly at Hirst Park Pavilion, focus on themes such as moving forward, setting goals, and assisting others. Participants explore concepts of spring and new growth, reflecting on their current situations and aspirations.

Previous impact assessments have demonstrated the effectiveness of Blossoming Communities' initiatives, with 100% of respondents reporting improved wellbeing, 98% feeling less isolated, and 66% engaging in other community groups or volunteer activities after participating.

Ashington Town Council is proud to support Blossoming Communities in this endeavour and anticipates the positive impact it will have on both the participants and the broader community.
