Ashington Town Council Supports Newbiggin Football Club with Grant for Volunteer Training and Pitch Maintenance

Ashington Town Council is delighted to announce that Civic Head, Councillor Caroline Ball, has presented a grant to Newbiggin Football Club.

As a local amateur club, Newbiggin Football Club plays a vital role in the community, providing opportunities for people of all ages to engage in football. Recognising the importance of maintaining high-quality playing conditions and supporting the club’s volunteers, this grant has been awarded to fund essential training and pitch maintenance resources.

The funding will specifically support volunteer training and the purchase of line paint to ensure the club’s pitches remain in top condition. Investing in volunteer development is a crucial step in improving the club’s facilities. As part of this initiative, the club aims to enhance knowledge and expertise in ground and pitch maintenance by enrolling volunteers in Level One and Level Two courses provided by the Grounds Management Association.

By equipping volunteers with the necessary skills and expertise, the club ensures long-term sustainability and improved playing conditions for current and future generations.

Ashington Town Council is proud to support this initiative and looks forward to seeing the positive impact this grant will have on Newbiggin Football Club and the wider community.
