Northumberland County Council Launches Green Spaces Maintenance Survey

Northumberland County Council (NCC) is inviting everyone across the County to participate in an important community conversation about the maintenance and biodiversity of publicly accessible green spaces.
The 'Supporting Nature in our Green Spaces' initiative aims to review current grounds maintenance practices to better support nature recovery while ensuring public spaces remain safe and attractive for all users.
This consultation forms part of NCC's commitment to environmental protection, as outlined in their Environmental Policy Statement, which pledges that the Council will:
- Take a lead role in protecting and enhancing the natural environment
- Support improved biodiversity across the county
- Review land management and maintenance practices to identify opportunities for nature recovery
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed at: https://haveyoursay.northumberland.gov.uk/waste/2025-grounds-maintenance-consultation
All responses will be treated anonymously and participants can request a copy of their submissions.
Survey deadline: Monday, 21st April 2025
