We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced contractors to provide high-quality, energy-efficient lighting solutions. The scope includes the integration of bespoke motifs, annual installation and removal, maintenance, storage, and emergency response services.

Ashington Regeneration Programme
We would be pleased to share additional information that may inform the approach to the tender regarding future regeneration. Ashington is currently undergoing a significant regeneration programme which will span the duration of the festive lighting contract. Of particular note is the Wansbeck Square development, which is scheduled for completion in Spring 2027.
This regeneration will transform key areas of the town centre and create new public spaces that will offer alternative opportunities for our festive lighting scheme. The programme aims to improve public realm areas and enhance connectivity throughout the town, which will undoubtedly impact how festive displays can be integrated into the townscape.
Previous Festive Lighting Elements
For reference, our previous festive lighting scheme has included:
14 trees spiralled with warm white glitter garland (100m per tree) and mini-drop lights
24 motifs on lamp columns on one-way section
20-foot dressed live Christmas tree

Expanded Scope Opportunity
With our increased annual budget of £40,000, potentially over 5 years, the Council would welcome proposals that extend the reach of the festive lighting to include more of the town centre and public realm areas. While we do not require fully costed plans at this initial stage, we would appreciate some visuals and an outline of what would be possible within the available budget at the presentation stage of the process.
We are particularly interested in seeing how your approach might allow us to expand the festive lighting coverage while maintaining quality and impact.

We are particularly interested in approaches that can adapt to the changing environment as regeneration works progress.
