Ashington in Bloom: A Home-Grown Success!
Ashington Town Council is delighted to share the beautiful summer floral displays now brightening up the town – proudly planted by our very own Neighbourhood Services team, Mark and Ryan.
This year, for the first time, the Council took a new approach to the town’s seasonal planting by bringing the work in-house. While the plants were sourced from Wansbeck Garden Centre, maintaining our longstanding relationship with this valued local supplier, all of the planting was carried out by Mark and Ryan. The result is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through teamwork, pride in place, and by empowering those who do the work every day to shape how it's delivered.
By using our own skilled staff, the Council has reduced costs while continuing to deliver a colourful and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike. Ryan will also be looking after the planters throughout the summer, ensuring they stay healthy, watered, and looking their best.
We’re incredibly proud of their efforts and the dedication they continue to show to the town – and we think the results speak for themselves!
