Civic Head Attends Arts and Crafts Program with Blossoming Communities

Civic Head Councillor Pauline Thompson attended a special session of the Blossoming Communities arts and crafts program, celebrating the organisation's commitment to mindfulness and wellbeing in the local community.

The visit took place during the program's regular Friday session from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hirst office, located at 82 Beatrice Street, Ashington. Cllr Thompson observed participants engaged in various arts and crafts activities specifically designed to promote mental health and community connection and also got involved with the arts and crafts herself.

The program, now in progress at the heart of the Hirst office for the couple of weeks, focuses on combining artistic creativity with mindfulness practices. Participants engage in a diverse range of crafting activities while building connections with fellow community members in a supportive, welcoming environment.

During her visit, Cllr Thompson met with program participants and staff, viewed completed projects, and learned about the positive impact these sessions are having on local residents' mental health and sense of community belonging.

Blossoming Communities is dedicated to promoting mental health, wellbeing, and community connection through innovative programs and activities.
