Ashington Christmas Market Moves to Hirst Park in Partnership with Heart of the Hirst Christmas Fair
Following the cancellation of the Ashington Christmas Market originally scheduled for Station Road on 14 November, organisers have announced an exciting new partnership that will bring festive cheer to the community on 7 December 2025.
The '12 Days of Christmas' event, previously organised by Money Tree Crafters & Traders, will now run in conjunction with the Heart of the Hirst Christmas Fair at Hirst Park, Ashington, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
A Bigger, Better Christmas Celebration
The merged event will feature approximately 30 stalls and attractions, combining the best of both celebrations. All activities originally planned for the High Street will still take place, with an exciting addition for families – a small funfair with free rides for younger visitors.
Event organisers Anita Allen and Mel Jackson have confirmed that the extended format will offer visitors a longer celebration than originally planned, with festive activities including:
- FREE Christmas face painting for children
- FREE gingerbread decorating
- FREE 12 Days of Christmas treasure hunt
- FREE visit with festive characters including a Snow Queen, Elf, Fairy Godmother, and Santa
- FREE letter writing to Santa
- Christmas shopping from talented local makers and creators
- Koast Radio providing entertainment
- Games and food vans
- Santa's Grotto (£2 per child)
Supporting the Community
The event continues its commitment to raising funds for Wansbeck Valley Food Bank. Despite the change of venue and date, local shops have confirmed their continued support, with donated raffle prizes still going towards this vital cause.
