Ashington Town Council to Distribute Reindeer Food at Tuesday Market Event
Ashington Town Council is spreading festive cheer this December with a magical community event offering free reindeer food to families!
Pop down to Ashington Market on Tuesday 9th December 2025, from 10am to 2pm, where parents, carers, and grandparents can pick up deer-lightful reindeer food for the little ones to scatter on Christmas Eve. We're delighted to be supporting Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day on 11th December – reindeer food will be given to Ashington residents in exchange for donations to this wonderful cause.

This magical tradition helps build excitement for the big day while bringing our community together during the most wonderful time of the year. The reindeer food is free to collect, and all we ask is for your support for Save the Children!
Have Your Say on Next Year's Christmas Tree
While you're there, we'd love to chat with you about next year's Christmas tree! We've had mixed feedback about our modern cone tree this year, so we're keen to hear your thoughts and what you'd like to see lighting up Ashington in 2026.
"Christmas is all about community, and we want everyone to have their say in making Ashington sparkle!" said Sharon Parmley, Events and Engagement Officer. "Come along, grab your reindeer food, have a chat, and help us choose the perfect tree to light up our town next Christmas."
