Ashington Town Council and Northumberland County Council Kerb Appeal Trial

Kerb Appeal Trial Update: Haydon Ward
Following the launch of our Kerb Appeal Trial with Northumberland County Council on 1st December 2025, we can confirm that Haydon ward will be the first area included in the trial.
Streets included in this phase of the trial are Haydon Road and Hartford Crescent. Properties in these streets have already received letter drops with full details of what to expect during the trial period.
Accessing Your Street
We'd like to thank residents on Haydon Road and Hartford Crescent for their support and cooperation. When NCC operatives are working in your street, you may be asked to temporarily move your vehicle to allow full access for cleaning and maintenance activities. Your cooperation with these requests is greatly appreciated and will help us achieve the best possible results.
Rolling Out Across Ashington
As we progress through the trial period, additional streets across different wards will be visited. All properties in streets will receive a letter ahead of works - so if you do not receive a letter, your street is not currently included in this phase.
This phased approach allows us to:
- Monitor and learn from each area before moving forward
- Respond to what we're learning and adjust if needed
- Ensure operatives can focus their efforts effectively
If your street is included in the trial, you will be notified directly. We won't be announcing all streets in advance, as this allows us the flexibility to adapt the trial based on results and feedback as we go. Rest assured that every household affected will receive advance notice through a letter drop.
Your Feedback Matters
Whether your street is in the current phase or not, we encourage all Ashington residents to share their observations and feedback throughout the trial. This will help us make informed decisions about the future of neighbourhood services across the whole town.
