Ashington Gears Up for the Great British Spring Clean 2024
Ashington Town Council is calling on all community members to join forces for the annual Great British Spring Clean, running March 15th through March 31st. This nationwide campaign organized by Keep Britain Tidy rallies volunteers to spruce up their neighbourhoods by tackling litter and plastic pollution.
For 2024, the Town Council with support from Northumberland County Council have organized litter picks events around Ashington. All residents are encouraged to take part in this fun, rewarding way to enhance the local environment while enjoying the spring weather.
Families, friends, schools, community groups, and businesses can all make a difference by signing up for an upcoming litter pick. Check out the schedule below and choose a date and location that works best. Let's come together as a community and make our beautiful town shine!

Litter Pick Schedule:
Hirst Area - Tuesday, March 26th at 10am Meet at Heart of the Hirst Building, 82 Beatrice Street
People's Park - Wednesday, March 27th at 10am Meet at main car park, Institute Road
Wansbeck Riverside - Thursday, March 28th at 10am Meet at North Seaton Colliery Community Centre
Paddock Wood - Saturday, March 30th 10:30am-12pm and 12:30pm-2pm Meet at North Seaton Community Centre
