NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to section 87(2)(b) of the Local Government Act 1972, that Sophie Robinson, formerly a Member of Ashington Town Council, has ceased to be a Member of the Council, due to their resignation, and that a vacancy now exists in the office of Councillor for the Town.

Bus Shelters

Ashington Town Council has responsibility for of all matters relating to the provision of bus shelters in the town.

The Town Council's Neighbourhood Services Officer regularly inspects the bus shelters in the town and carries out repairs and maintenance using Ashington based businesses where possible.

The Town Council has a programme of replacing ageing shelters which are beyond repair as well as providing shelters at new locations.

Requests for new or replacement shelters are being met in order of priority.  Please note that presently it is taking longer than expected to replace glazed panels, but rest assured this is in hand.
