Salary NJC points 15-16 (£22,911 - £23,369)
A Full-Time Horticultural Officer is required to work within Ashington Town Council to undertake and oversee the all-year round provision of an effective and efficient horticultural and botanical service in the town.
The post is initially for a 2-Year Fixed Term period and a significant role during this time will be to prepare, design, implement and oversee an agreed programme of improvement in the full range of floral presentations and environmental displays in the town with a key focus on Station Road and the Town Centre.
Applicants must have proven supervisory and practical experience of the design and management of horticultural and botanical projects at an appropriate level.
In addition to a good general education, excellent communication and customer care skills and a flexible approach to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the successful candidate should ideally hold or be working towards the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Diploma in Garden Design and Maintenance.
