      As part of the national Great Big Green Week campaign celebrating community action to tackle climate change, Ashington Town Council invites you to join us at the local market on Tuesday, 10th June from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

      Our vibrant event will feature several local organisations committed to environmental sustainability. Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast, concerned about climate change, or simply curious about green initiatives in our community, there’s something for everyone!

      Join Us in Remembrance at Northumberland Miners Picnic

      We invite you to attend the solemn and moving Miners’ Memorial Service as part of the annual Northumberland Miners’ Picnic.

      • Location: Woodhorn Museum
      • Led by: Ministers of Ashington Churches Together

      Order of Service

      The memorial service honours those who worked in the Northumberland Coal Mines and pays tribute to miners who lost their lives.

      A Tradition of Remembrance

      The Northumberland Miners’ Picnic has a rich history dating back generations. The memorial service stands as a poignant reminder of our mining heritage and the sacrifices made by those who worked in the coal mines.

      All Are Welcome

      Whether you have family connections to the mining industry or simply wish to pay your respects, everyone is welcome to attend this important community event.
