Mark your calendars for a day of family-friendly fun at the annual Ashington Community Fair Day on Sunday, July 7th, 2024! Brought to you by the Ashington Town Council, this local tradition will take place from 11 AM to 4 PM in Peoples Park. Fair-goers can look forward to live music performances, tasty food trucks, local vendor booths, carnival rides and games, craft activities for kids, and much more summer entertainment. Don’t miss out on a highlight of the Ashington summer social calendar. 

Ashington Community Fair Announces Stellar Stage Lineup
The annual Ashington Community Fair is back, promising an exciting celebration of local talent and community spirit. The highly anticipated event will feature an impressive stage lineup, ensuring a day filled with music, dance, and entertainment for all ages.
Headlining the musical performances is the renowned Mike Memphis, whose soulful melodies and dynamic stage presence are sure to captivate the audience. STAN the BAND, a local favourite, will bring their infectious energy and catchy tunes to the fair, while Ruby & The Mystery Cats promise to mesmerize with their unique blend of genres.
The fair will also feature a special performance by the talented Ian Campbell, showcasing his musical prowess. Additionally, the Newbiggin by the Sea Choir will grace the stage with their harmonious voices, filling the air with beautiful renditions of beloved classics.
Bringing a touch of grace and artistry, the Gladwins Ballet & Stage School will captivate attendees with their dance routines, showcasing the remarkable skill and dedication of the young performers.
In a display of discipline and commitment, the Ashington Sea Cadets will present an impressive training demonstration, highlighting the values instilled in the local youth.
“We are thrilled to bring together such an exceptional lineup of performers for this year’s Ashington Community Fair,” said Sharon Parmley, the event’s coordinator. “From music to dance and community showcases, this fair celebrates the rich tapestry of talent and camaraderie that makes our town truly special.”
The Ashington Community Fair promises to be a memorable day filled with entertainment, local flavours, and community spirit. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure the best spots and enjoy the full range of activities and performances on offer.

Prepare for an exciting day filled with thrills, games, and delectable treats as the annual community event takes over Peoples Park car park once again! Just like last year, the festivities will transform the space into a bustling hub of entertainment for all ages.
Little ones can unleash their boundless energy on the four to five children’s rides, including classic favourites that are sure to bring joy and laughter. For those seeking a friendly competition, test your skills at the ever-popular hook-a-duck and side stall games, where prizes await the lucky winners.
Unleash your adventurous side at the cottage fun house, navigating through its whimsical twists and turns, or bounce sky-high on the exhilarating trampoline. Satisfy your sweet tooth at the dedicated sweet stall, offering an irresistible array of sugary delights.
Fuel up for the excitement with savoury offerings from hot food stalls, promising to tantalize your taste buds with mouthwatering treats. Beat the heat with refreshing slushies from the slush stall, providing the perfect cool-down during the summer fun.
But that’s not all! Prepare for an unforgettable encounter as a T-Rex roams the grounds, adding a touch of prehistoric excitement to the fun of the fair.

Join us for an unforgettable adventure where you’ll be guided by skilled instructors who will introduce you to the basics of these captivating disciplines. Prepare to challenge yourself, build confidence, and unlock hidden talents you never knew existed.

Mortal Fools
Get ready to unleash your creativity at Ashington Community event! We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented guest artist, Pui Lee, who will guide participants in the art of origami. Together, you’ll learn how to craft and decorate delightful origami models of butterflies and birds, bringing these enchanting creatures to life with paper and imagination.
But that’s not all! For our younger attendees, we’ve prepared a delightful colouring activity, ensuring there’s something engaging for everyone.
In addition to these hands-on artistic endeavours, we invite you to contribute to a truly special project – the creation of collaborative bunting. This unique installation will serve as a canvas for you to share your vision for the future of Ashington. Whether through words, drawings, or symbols, let your creativity shine as we weave together a tapestry of hopes and aspirations for our beloved community.

Experience the Disco Dome: Bounce, dance, and get your face painted! Plus, challenge yourself with giant outdoor games.
Activities on the day, include;

  • Disco Dome (has a dedicated member of staff from vendor to deliver)
  • Giant Inflatable games (has a dedicated member of staff from vendor to deliver)
  • Badge making from PAN staff
  • Craft table

We’re also

  • Staring an ‘echo’s of…’ project and asking attendees  “What makes growing up in Ashington unique, and how does being from Ashington shape your identity and experiences?” which will go towards an eventual wider project series
  • Doing a mini consultation on what young people want from youth work in Ashington. 
  • Finding out what people would like to see at the Pride Picnic in Ashington

Ashsington Veterans and Elders Institute - will be selling wooden garden products, indoor clocks, small trinkets
Ashington Camer Club - will be exhibiting some of the members wonderful photography.
Asma Begum - with a selection of Handmade jewellery, keyrings, hair accessorises and scarves.
Northumberland College - with information on their Higher Education and Adult Provision. 
The Little Tea Room - with delicious cakes and bakes.
Full Circle Food - will be telling people about their work and giving out herb seeds, recipes and children’s activities to take home and try.
Sweet Memories Sweet Shop - with a selection of their traditional sweets and treats.
Dawns Resins - selling resin and cast pieces
The Lost Dog Trapping Team UK Search & Rescue Network CIC - with a fun have-a-go game for 50p, all money raised will go to the charity.
M&H Bakes - with tray bakes, full trays available or slices.
Talking Marras - will have a Tombola, kids games and they will also be selling homemade carft items.
Ann Irving - selling homemade crafts, jewellery, bookmarks, keyrings, cushion covers and more.
1st Hirst Scout Group - have a tombola and fun games to have a go.
Oak Barrel Creations - beautiful handcrafted items using oak barrels.
Asda - Amanda, Asda’s Community Engagement Officer will be raising money for Children in Need and there may even be a visit from Pudsey!!
Northumberland Wildlife Trust - Find out about some of the Northumberland Wildlife Projects and pit up some wildlife related merchandise.
