As part of the national Great Big Green Week campaign celebrating community action to tackle climate change, Ashington Town Council invites you to join us at the local market on Tuesday, 10th June from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Our vibrant event will feature several local organisations committed to environmental sustainability. Whether you’re a gardening enthusiast, concerned about climate change, or simply curious about green initiatives in our community, there’s something for everyone!

Climate Change Committee Showcase

• Share your thoughts on climate change with council representatives
• Learn about the Council’s ongoing climate action initiatives
• Discover how you can get involved in local sustainability efforts
• Find out how Ashington’s first ever Eco Fair went

Free Raffle with Amazing Prizes!

That’s right—our popular free raffle is back with some fantastic eco-friendly prizes to be won! Stop by our stall to enter to win Ninja Air Fryers, Slow Cookers, Gardening Tools and more!

Full Circle Food Garden Station

• Get expert gardening advice from Horticultural Officer Angela
• Pick up plants for your home garden
• Participate in fun, family-friendly gardening activities

Climate Action Wansbeck Pledges

• Swap pledges for plants with Climate Action Wansbeck

Citizens Advice Energy Team

• Speak to the Citizens Advice Energy Team and find out how save money on your energy bills

NCC Climate Change Team

• Join the Warmer Homes team who will be offering advice on how to make homes more energy efficient, including what free grants are currently available for residents to apply for. (link to NCC Warmer Homes info online) - Northumberland County Council - Renewable Energy and Heat  

Groundwork NE & Cumbria

• A showcase of local green projects and what’s coming up in the future
• Recycling advice and information
