On Saturday 6 May 2023, the coronation of His Majesty King Charles the Third will take place at Westminster Abbey in London.

Business Chair, Cllr Mark Purvis offers a round-up of the year past, in advance of the Council’s Annual Meeting being held on Tuesday 16th May.

Ashington Town Council aims to promote and protect the quality of life and well-being of those who live in, work in, or visit the local area.

Awards of up to £500 are now available to help support your voluntary group or organisation  

The Council has taken delivery of 12 defibrillators, which will be installed this week. The equipment was purchased with funding from our County Councillors: Cllr Caroline Ball, Cllr Brian Gallacher, Cllr Lynne Grimshaw, Cllr Ken Parry and Cllr Mark Purvis.

County Cllrs were delighted to be part of this project and are reassured that the town will have greater coverage in the event of anyone having a cardiac arrest. The hope is that there will be many more defibrillators available when they are installed in schools, following the Government’s pledge that all schools will have at least one defibrillator by the end of the 2023 school year.

Ashington’s effort for The Great British Spring Clean Campaign for 2023 has been a huge success this year.
