5 FUSILIERS will celebrate St George’s Day 2024 whilst also exercising their freedom of Northumberland with a special church service and parade through the streets of Ashington on Saturday 20th April 2024.

What a historic and emotional day it was as I witnessed the Royal Navy officially hand over the ship’s bell and other artefacts from HMS Blyth to Blyth Town Council.

A special train journey, along the new Northumberland passenger rail line, took place today (21st February 2024).

The Civic Head, Cllr Victor Bridges was delighted to be invited to the recent Volunteer Celebration Night at the Ashington Veterans and Elders Institute. It was a pleasure for the Civic Head to attend along with his wife for a night of games and entertainment.

As part of Ashington Town Council’s small grant scheme, the Civic Head, Cllr Victor Bridges presented a cheque of £500 to Blossoming Communities today, Wednesday 6th December.

A jolly crowd turned out on Thursday evening, November 30th to ring in the holiday season at Ashington’s annual lighting event. The anticipation was palpable as hundreds gathered despite brisk weather for an evening full of Yuletide fun.
