Ashington Town Council is delighted to announce a fantastic programme of free activities

Ashington Town Council, in partnership with the Royal British Legion Ashington Branch, invites the entire community to join together for Remembrance Sunday on Sunday, 9th November 2025, as the town pays tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.

If you’ve previously ordered poppy wreaths through Ashington Town Council or are considering laying a wreath this Remembrance season, please note an important change to our ordering process.

We are pleased to announce that the external audit of our Annual Governance and Accountability Return for the year ending 31 March 2025 has been completed by Mazars LLP on 17th September 2025.

Despite the heavy rain, spirits were high as over 40 people gathered on the afternoon of Saturday 20th September to celebrate the official opening of the new Community Centenary Orchard at Wansbeck Road Allotments.

Ashington Town Council, Full Council meeting is being held on Tuesday 30th September, starting at 6:00pm. The meeting is held in the Town Hall, Council Chamber, 65 Station Road, Ashington, NE63 8RX.

• A poll for the election of a Town Councillor for Hirst will be held on Thursday 16 October 2025, between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm.
• The number of Town Councillors to be elected is one.
• The polling station is Hirst Welfare Centre on Alexandra Road.
• The names of the Candidates remaining validly nominated for election are as follows (in alphabetical order as they appear on the notice).

Ashington Town Council is encouraging residents to take part in a new survey being run by Northumberland County Council. The survey asks people what they feel and experience about where they live – what they value, and what they think is missing – all in respect of council services. This is an important opportunity for residents to help shape the County Council’s priorities and budgets for 2026–2029, and to influence the next Corporate Plan 2026–2030.

The survey takes just a few minutes to complete, with ten  questions about what matters most to you.
