Small Grants Awarded in February
Ashington Town Council was pleased to award small grant funding of £500 each to the Talking Marra’s, Ashington Veterans and Elders, and Ashington RVS Social Centre.
Talking Marra’s is a new mental health support group offering weekly drop-ins at Hirst Welfare on Fridays from 10am until 2pm, as well as online support. The group provide gardening, crafting, visiting speakers, table top games, and the opportunity for socialising and fundraising.
Ashington Veterans and Elders, and Ashington RVS Social Centre reached out to the Council for help with increased running costs. Both provide much needed support for those using their services.
The Council will be visiting and sharing more about these groups and the work they do in the future.
Applications for grant funding in the next financial year will be invited in mid-April.
