Voter ID needed to vote in any UK Election

Residents of the Haydon Ward may be asked to vote in a by-election, as a result of the Casual Vacancy declared on 20th July 2023.

Northumberland County Council Elections Office has received ten signatures requesting a poll. If there are more than two people nominated there will be a by-election on Thursday 12th October 2023.

Please be aware that this is not the official notice of the election, which will not be posted until 7th September. Nominations will be requested after this date.

In view that this will be the first election in Ashington under the new law that photo ID is required to vote at a polling station, it is worth making everyone aware at the earliest opportunity.

Please use the link below to view the types of photo ID that are acceptable, and what to do if you do not have photo ID.
