Northumbria Police Crack Down on Motorbike Antisocial Behaviour in Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth and Cramlington

Northumbria Police Crime Commissioner Visits Ashington

Kim McGuinness, Crime Commissioner was with Northumbria Police in Ashington yesterday to promote additional steps that are being taken to curb motorbike-related antisocial behaviour that has been blighting communities across southeast Northumberland. This includes new training and the deployment of a dedicated taskforce across the region.

In response, Northumbria Police are building on the success of an existing Southern taskforce by creating a new team to specifically target motorbike nuisance. The new taskforce will work alongside the police's ongoing operations and wider tactics aimed at combatting the issue.

Yesterday, Councillor Lynne Grimshaw joined police officers in Ashington where they showcased tools and tactics available to crack down on offenders. These include the ability to seize motorbikes being used antisocially.

The Crime Commissioner is looking forward to seeing the results of the new taskforce's efforts in the communities of Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth and Cramlington soon. The police have reiterated their firm stance against motorbike antisocial behaviour across southeast Northumberland.
