Halloween Fun for all the Family this October Half Term
Get ready for a thrilling Halloween season in Ashington! We're excited to announce a series of events and activities that will keep the whole family entertained throughout the October half term.
Ashington Market Halloween Crafts Extravaganza
Date: Tuesday, 29th October 2024 Location: Ashington Market Time: 10am to 2pm
Join us for a day of spooky crafts and Halloween-themed activities:
- Pride Action North: Creating Halloween suncatchers
- Mortal Fools: Making spooky friendship bracelets with Halloween-themed materials
- Northumberland Wildlife Trust: Craft Halloween bat decorations using natural materials, see a taxidermy bat, and learn about local bat populations
- Full Circle Food Project: Free pumpkins (courtesy of Ashington Town Council), pumpkin recipes, displays, and biscuit decorating
- Northumberland Family Hubs Team: Halloween-themed playdough and biscuit decorating
- Ashington Library: Fun Halloween crafts, stories, and books
Trick or Treat Trail
Dates: Saturday, 26th October - Saturday, 2nd November 2024 Location: Ashington High Street, Station Road, Lintonville Terrace, Woodhorn Road and North Seaton Road
Explore Ashington's high street with our exciting new Trick or Treat Trail:
- Over 20 participating shops
- Special sticker cards for kids to complete
- Collect sweet treats from each location
- Fun for the whole family!

Free Swim Sessions
Continue the Halloween fun with two free swim sessions at Ashington Leisure Centre:

Join us for these free workshops for young people.
We'll be watching the Sounding Board Digital short films and music videos together and inviting you to take part in drama games, music-themed activities and crafty fun, all run by our fantastic youth theatre practitioners.
As part of our Sounding Board project our youth theatre groups have created short films filled with bold, thought-provoking lyrics, catchy tunes and creative soundscapes. Through these workshops, we'll explore the themes of the films and do some creative response activities.

SIX GOLDEN PUMPKINS have been hidden in local parks and nature reserves, each holding a free family pass to The Alnwick Garden – just in time for October half-term!

Wellbeing Wednesdays Walking for Health Wednesday 30th October
Woodhorn Museum Pumpkin Trail
The team have been busy hiding the pumpkins around the museum!
Pick up your trail sheet and then explore the museum and colliery buildings to try and find all the hidden pumpkins.
Count how many you can find and make your way to the Welcome desk with your completed trail sheet. If you’ve spotted them all then you’ll be rewarded with a small sweet treat!
The Pumpkin Trail is open from Wednesday 16th October until Sunday 3rd November. No need to pre-book and included with your Annual Pass admission.
The Annual Pass prices are only £9.50 for adults, £8.50 for concessions and children under 18 come in FREE! Pay once and enjoy unlimited repeat visits for a whole year.
