Northumberland County Council have teamed up with Go Jauntly to bring you a fantastic digital walking experience that celebrates our town's legendary figures!
Ashington has a host of beautiful sites and historic locations that many people adore, but many others have yet to visit. With the Northumberland Line now open, we and Northumberland County Council would love to encourage not only local residents, but those coming from the outside to put on their walking boots, and discover the true beauty of Ashington!
Tour Details
Starting at Ashington railway station, this 1hr 40min adventure takes you through some of our most iconic spots:
- The iconic Jackie Milburn statue by artist John William Mills
- The stunning Queen Elizabeth 2nd Country Park and lake
- The historic Woodhorn Museum celebrating our heritage
- Ashington Football Heroes display celebrating our football heroes
- The wonderful Jack Charlton statue
- Beautiful Hirst Park and playing fields
We look forward to seeing people put on their flat caps, grab the nearest stick that can be used for walking and exploring our lovely town, the woods, the countryside and the local sports grounds! Maybe even join in and have a game!
