Free Swimming Sessions Brought Community Together at Ashington Leisure Centre
Ashington Town Council successfully hosted free swimming sessions this February Half Term in collaboration with Places Leisure. The initiative achieved its goal of making swimming accessible to everyone in the community and supporting the development of new swimmers.
Successful Event Highlights
The free swimming session took place on Saturday 1st March 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The event offered 80 slots, which were filled on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing participants to simply turn up on the day.
This exciting initiative, fully funded by the Town Council's new Youth Advisory Committee, aims to promote healthy activities for family and friends and welcomed swimmers of all skill levels.

LukLuk Productions successfully created a creative promotional video during the free swim initiative. The film captured artistic and dynamic shots of the event, carefully respecting the wishes of all participants.
