Duke's Secondary School Tree Planting

Duke's Secondary School Tree Planting

As part of the ongoing climate change initiative driven by Northumberland County Council, Duke's Secondary School received saplings to plant at STEM Fest Net Zero back in July.  Unfortunately, the tree planting had to be postponed due to Covid.

The rearranged tree planting event took place on Friday 7th October at Duke's Secondary School.  Cllr Jim Lang attended the event, which unfortunately turned out to be a very wet morning.  Despite the rain, spirits were high, and everyone was looking forward to planting trees and helping combat climate change.

Following the tree planting students were also planting wildflower seeds in preparation for next spring.
