Play Areas

Ashington Town Council has responsibility for matters relating to the provision of some play areas in the town.

Northumberland County Council remains responsible for the provision and maintenance of play areas in the town’s strategic parks at Hirst Park and Wansbeck Riverside Park.

Those play areas that are managed and maintained by Ashington own Council are in the following locations:

  • Aintree Close
  • Alexandra Road
  • Epsom Drive
  • North Seaton Colliery
  • Paddock Wood
  • Peoples Park
  • Seaton Vale

These play areas are regularly inspected by Northumberland County Council and maintained by Ashington Town Council.  The Town Council's Neighbourhood Services Officer carries out repairs and maintenance which includes a rolling programme of improvements.

The Town Council has also recently supported Northumberland County Council’s multi-million-pound scheme to restore Hirst Park which includes new play facilities.

To report an issue with any of the play areas listed under the responsibility of Ashington Town Council, please Contact Us.

Please note that any issue with the play areas in the town's strategic parks (at Hirst Park and Wansbeck Riverside Park) should be directed to Northumberland County Council.
