Ashington Town Council has been working with community groups and organisations across the town. 

Last night, Tuesday 19th September, prior to the Climate Change and Environment Committee Meeting, Ashington Town Council invited along Anne-Marie Soulsby of The Sustainable Life Coach to present Carbon Literacy Training certificates.

The Full Council meeting will be taking place on the 26th of September 2023 at 6pm.

This will be held within the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 65 Station Road, Ashington, NE63 8RX.

A by-election for the office of Councillor for the Haydon Ward will be held on Thursday 12th October 2023, to elect one Councillor.

Ashington Town council’s agreed budget for 2023/24 includes a Small Grant Fund, which Community Groups and Organisations can apply for grants of up to £500.

Should NCC Elections Office receive more than one nomination, an election will take place on Thursday 12th October 2023. 

Nominations are open from today, until 4:00pm on Friday 15th September 2023. Nomination papers are available by clicking on the link below, or from the Elections Office, or Town Council office.

Nomination papers must be hand-delivered to the Returning Officer, County Hall, Morpeth, Northumberland, NE61 2EF on any day after the date of this notice (excluding weekends and bank holidays) but no later than 4:00pm on Friday 15th September 2023. Electronic service of documents is not acceptable.

Please be reminded that should an election take place, in-person voters will be required to show photo ID.
