Grassroots community projects across Northumberland are set to benefit from a major funding boost, with a strong local impact in Ashington.

Ashington Town Council is pleased to share an update on the Kerb Appeal Trial, which has been underway since 1st December 2025 — and the results are beginning to speak for themselves.

Ashington Town Council has voted to write formally to Northumberland County Council, demanding that Ashington is strongly prioritised in the allocation of historic levels of government funding for local highways maintenance.

Ashington Town Council is pleased to share that work is now underway to create an exciting new play area at North Seaton Colliery, off Links View. The old play equipment is being removed to make way for the new development, which will transform the site into a modern, accessible, and engaging space for children and families.

The Town Council office will be closed from 4:30pm on Tuesday 23rd December 2025 and will fully re-open at 9:00am on Monday 5th January 2026.
