The Ashington Branch of the Royal British Legion will launch their annual Poppy Appeal on Thursday 27th October 2022.

Ashington Town Council has set aside a budget to enable grants to be given to groups and voluntary organisations, who would like to be able to open their doors as a ‘Warm Hub’. Or those who are already doing so, but would like to extend their offer. Funding could contribute towards room costs, transport, activities, or to providing food and drinks. The Council is open to discussing what you would like to offer and how we could help. The aim is to facilitate a good network of hubs across Ashington.

Ashington Town Council recognise the huge achievement of Ashington AFC in reaching the 4th round of the FA Cup. As well as wishing them luck, the Council agreed to contribute £1,500 towards the 500-mile round trip for the team.

At their meeting last night, Ashington Town Council demonstrated their generosity towards the community with further funding of £2,000 and an allocation of £6,750 to support warm hubs in Ashington.
